We’ve all accidentally thrown away a spouse’s cherished belonging. A lucky shirts or a favorite drinking glass from college. One time, I accidentally got rid of my second born in a yard sale. The Permanent Roommate was livid and made me chase the buyers down and get for my daughter back. I had to buy her back for double AND throw in a VHS copy of Beaches.
If you can’t read the poor guy’s typed out plea to save his marriage, it reads:
“I accidentally gave this book away on Saturday July 25th in a box on the corner of Green & Franklin. This book is extremely important to my wife. It was a keepsake from her mother and is irreplaceable. On the inside cover is a note that reads “Christmas 1991.” If you happened to pick up this book can you please get in touch with me.”
Luckily, the post went viral and Judy Blume herself found out about the flub.
Oh no tragic! Will send signed copy. Not the same, I know. Let’s hope it saves the marriage. Not sure I can find that cover but will try.

Blume sent a book and the marriage was saved! Until she finds out her second born was also in that box.
So, here’s my question — what possession of yours would you absolutely lose your shit over, if your husband or wife put it out for trash? Tell me in the comments.
